(Auf Englisch geschrieben, weil ich es notfalls ins englische Forum posten werde, wenn ich im deutschen Forum keine Hilfe finden kann)
Dear all,
I am a private person and tried to migrate my Joomla 3.10-based website to Joomla 4 at the same time as switching to a different webhoster, but I failed*. Now I am looking for someone who can do the migation for me and whose efforts I will pay. In the meantime, unfortunately my webhoster switched the available Joomla installations to 5.3.1 only (i.e. Joomla 4 is not offered any more). But my attempts had already failed for Joomla 4.
I have now spent multiple full days with this problem and I don't see much progress. That's why I have given up the hope to solve this without massive help from experienced people. And as they will probably also have to invest some time, I concluded that I should pay this effort.
My website is nothing fancy - it does not have any interactive stuff, forms to fill-in and the like - it is just a presentation of articles and moreover uses tags to store literature references. Attached you see, what extension I was using. However, these extensions don't need to work at the end of this paid assistance as long as I can edit my articles again and potentially use other extensions and their associated "commands / keywords" in the articles. The only thing that I really need is the articles' "source code" (as shown in the editor, i.e. including these "commands" like "{slider title="Sometitle" class="icon" open="false"} Some text {/sliders}" ) and the existing tags (i.e. literature references) being migrated to Joomla 5.3.1.
Who could do that for me?
I can provide:
- access to my old webhoster's server by way of a file manager web interface (but observe that the domain name has moved to my new webhoster, and I have not found and possibility to access the Joomla back- and frontends on my old webhoster's server)
- access to my new webhoster's server (sftp, ssh etc.)
- the Akeeba-backup's jpa file of my old website
- access to my J4 website upgrade attempts (if their log files are somehow interesting
For the payment: I hope that the above effort is not too large for a pro - my current idea is to spend up to 200€ on it.
Many thanks in advance,
Marco
* What I did and what failed:
- In my old webhoster's server, I checked the compatibility of my extensions and deactivated those, which I assumed to be incompatible
- Then I created a backup with Akeeba
- I moved the respective files to my new webhoster's server, created an empy MySQL database and installed the kickstart.php
- But as my domain still pointed to the old webhoster's server, I then moved my domain to my new webhoster. From that point onwards, I could not access the backend on my old webhoster's server any more.
- Then I started kickstart.php. There were some error messages about incompatibilities, so I deactivated some more things.
- However, at the end of the installation, the backend menu did not show up completely any more. E.g. there was no way to show "Extensions" in the backend Control Center.
